St. John Lutheran Church is located in Lykens, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The Parish Register containing records of baptisms, marriages, and deaths, is available for the years 1873-1942.
The introductory page states the following:
The following records from the younger of the two Lutheran congregations in Lykens, Pennsylvania, are interesting both because of their volume and because of the useful data often recorded about a person in addition to the entry of the pastoral act. Thus, there are the genealogically helpful designations of birth places in the burial register, for instance.
The following translation and transcript has been made under the direction of the undersigned by Mrs. W. F. Hutchinson.

The register is 168 pages in length and is indexed by surname (21 pages).
The originals were transcribed at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania, and microfilm copies were first made available to churches, libraries and the public. Several years ago, the transcribed pages were also digitized and uploaded to Ancestry.com, where they are searchable and can be attached to Ancestry.com family trees as documents.
