The Fisherville Charge of the Lutheran Church was centered in northern Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. A register containing records of baptisms, marriages, and deaths, is available for the years 1895-1965. Of the five congregations in this charge, all records are not available for the entire time period.
The introductory page states the following:
The following is an accurate copy of the charge register of the Fisherville charge in northern Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Involved are a number of Lutheran congregations:
St. Peter or Fetterhoff’s, south of Fisherville [Halifax Township]; Messiah, at Fisherville; Zion (Straw’s), near Enders; Star of Bethlehem, at Enders; [and] St. Paul, or Bowerman’s, at Enterline.
Many of these congregations have older records. Some of them ceased to function before this record closed. Others opened their own registers when this book was closed.
This copy was made by Mrs. Carol Keys.
[sig] Frederick S. Weiser, September 1971.
The register is 49 pages in length and is indexed by surname (7 pages).
The originals were transcribed at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania, and microfilm copies were first made available to churches, libraries and the public. Several years ago, the transcribed pages were also digitized and uploaded to Ancestry.com, where they are searchable and can be attached to Ancestry.com family trees as documents.
For researchers who do not have access to Ancestry.com, a high quality digital copy of this book is available at the Elizabethville Area Historical Society . For further information, contact Marilyn Henninger.
