An undated photograph of the back fences of a mine patch (housing provided for miners) with miners and their families socializing. When the collieries were idle and the weather was nice, much time was spent outdoors to alleviate some of the pressure caused by too many people packed into cramped quarters.
The location for this photo is unknown.
