A. M. ROMBERGER PASSED AWAY TUESDAY
Albert M. Romberger, a resident of this community more than fifty years, died at his home Tuesday morning at the age of 85 years. He had been in ill health for some time.
Mr. Romberger was a son of Adam Romberger and Mary [Bohner] Romberger and was born in Northumberland County, near Pillow, 28 January 1863. He was married to Miss Kate E. Keiper of Elizabethville, 27 December 1887. They observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary last December.
Mr. Romberger had been a merchant of Elizabethville more than forty years, and entered retirement seven years ago. He was an active member of Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church.
At the time of his death Mr. Romberger was a director of the First National Bank of Elizabethville, having served in that capacity for many years, and was also a former president of the bank. He had served more tan thirty years as secretary of Maple Grove Cemetery, and was a former director of Elizabethville Water Company.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Earl K. Romberger, of Elizabethville; one grandson, Bruce Romberger, Elizabethville; three granddaughters, Mrs. Russell Holtzman, Millersburg; Mrs. H. E. Artz and Miss Mary Barbara Romberger, both of Philadelphia; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held from the Buffington Funeral Home, West Main Street, at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon. Rev. H. S. Kiefer, pastor of Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church will officiate and interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
