The 35th Anniversary Edition of the Amish History of Dauphin County Pennsylvania, 1978-2013, was published in 2013 by Elam Lapp of Millersburg, Pennsylvania.
From the book: “In 1975, a corporate farming enterprise in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, known as Spread Eagle Farms, who at one time owned 28 farms in Lykens Valley, declared bankruptcy and sold out in 1975. One of the first farms purchased by the Amish was in Mifflin Township by Levi Esh…. That was about three years before any Amish moved into the valley. Land was being bought in a 22-mile stretch from Millersburg to Spring Glen in Schuylkill County….”
The 2013 edition “also marks the 35th year of the Amish in Lykens Valley.”

This book represents the fourth edition of this work and does not contain schools records which were found in earlier editions. According to Lapp, this material was not included “because of the density of the materials, which could be a book of itself.” The three earlier editions do “cover the first years of school history.“
