Another unidentified tintype has been found and it is possible that it was taken at the Gratz Fair. This one was from a collection of photos that were passed down in the Edward Dietrich family.
The gentleman on the right in the above tintype bears a strong resemblance to Edward Dietrich (1874-1948) as a young man.. The gentleman on the left has not yet been identified. Edward Dietrich (1874-1948) was married to Jennie Irene Kieper (1876-1967) and many photos from this family have been featured on this blog.
The one problem in making a positive identification is the age of Edward Dietrich who appears to be about 20 years old in the tintype, making its date of taking as about 1894. The other tintypes shown on this blog, were taken around 1874. Tintypes achieved their greatest popularity in the 1860s and 1870s.
