An undated picture post card view of the approach to the Northern Central Railroad Station at Liverpool, located north of Millersburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, on the east bank of the Susquehanna River. The photograph was taken from track level looking north and the bend in the tracks goes around the base of the Mahantongo Mountain.
Liverpool was actually located in Perry County, Pennsylvania, on the west bank of the river, and a ferry dock was located about 15 feet below the station on the river bank from which passengers and freight were moved back and forth across the river. Passengers used stairs behind the station.
This view of the station has often been attributed to Noll, a Millersburg photographer, and is found on many Millersburg area post cards from different time periods. Previously, a similar view was featured her on this blog:
