The Camp Meeting of the Colored Methodists, at our place, has been a success. Large audiences have greeted the earnest workers nightly, in the grove and enthusiastic singing and good honest gospel preaching have been given to them. Rev. Z. T. Brown is the leader of the movement and is assisted by Rev. John Bowen and quartette of singers, including two female voices. Sabbath last was the last day. In the afternoon a children’s service was held and the little ones of the town spoke and sang with an earnestness that afforded great delight to the audience. Rev. Mr. Brown then gave an address to the children, which he styles :His bee hive” and consisted of such injunctions as “Be good” “Be kind” “Be thankful” etc. The final service was held in the United Brethren Church in the evening, the weather proving too stormy for out-of-door services. The service lasted three hours and much enthusiasm and earnestness prevailed. The other churches of town were closed and all joined in the revival.
