A 1932 article announcing a new fund raiser for the senior class of the Lykens Valley Vocational School told of a fund raiser held the previous week by the school’s athletic association to raise funds for athletic equipment. The latter fund raiser was a “Black-Face Revue.”
The school was located in Berrysburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
According to the Elizabethville Echo, April 14, 1922:
BERRYSBURG CLASS PLAY APRIL 15th and 16th
BERRYSBURG, Pennsylvania — Students of the local Vocational School will present the play, “The Eighteen Carat Boob” in the school house Friday and Saturday evenings, April 15-16 [1932]. Proceeds will be received by the Senior Class of the School.
Last week, the athletic Association of the school presented the “Black-Face Review” to acquire additional funds for athletic equipment.
“The Eighteen Carat Boob” is a three-act play and members of the cast are well prepared to furnish a splendid evening’s entertainment.
Admissions for the play will be 30 cents and 15 cents. It was begin at 7:30 o’clock each evening.
