From the Altoona Times, 17 October 1911:
CARS FOR MIDLAND ROAD
Several new box cars for use on the Midland Pennsylvania Railroad, now under construction between Millerburg and Ashland, have just been received at the former place from the car shops at Berwick. This will add to the equipment of several flat cars that are also stored at Millersburg waiting the completion of the line through to Gratz.
The work on the Cummings’ cut at Millersburg, the biggest piece of construction work along the line, will be completed next week, if the weather is good. It is expected that the line will be competed to Gratz by the first of the year.
