CHARLES EDWIN UMHOLTZ
Charles Edwin Umholtz, age 48 years, 11 months and 7 days, died at his home in Gratz at eight o’clock Sunday morning, October 9th, as the result of pulmonary hemorrhage. He had been ill with miner’s asthma and confined to his home since September 16th.
He was a son of Levi Umholtz and Anna Mary [Radle] Umholtz and was born in Lykens Township, November 2, 1883, and had been a resident of the Gratz community his entire life. His marriage to Miss Cora J. Wiest took place in April 1908 by Rev. Klick. Mr. Umholtz was a member of Simeon’s Reformed Church, Gratz.
Survivors are his wife, two daughters and a son: Mrs. John Hoffman, Alberta Umholtz and Carl Umholtz of Lykens; two grandchildren, Betty Umholtz and Bobby Umholtz of Lykens. Seven sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Catherine Grubb, Lykens; Mrs. John Deibler, Millersburg R.D.; Mrs. Charles Kissinger, Elizabethville; Mrs. Frank Deibler, Trevorton; Mrs. Henry Huntzinger, Hegins; Mrs. Fred Steely, Gratz; Harry Umholtz and Homer Umholtz, Gratz.
