CHARLES G. REIGLE KILLED
LIFE CRUSHED OUT BY FALL OF TOP AT SHORT MOUNTAIN MINES
Funeral Saturday Morning at 9 o’clock – Burial at Gratz
Charles G. Reigle [Riegle] of North Second Street [Lykens], employed as a miner at Short Mountain Colliery, was caught by a fall of top Wednesday morning and so severely crushed that he died in about 15 minutes after the accident occurred, and before he could be removed from the fallen mass of slate and coal. His head not being covered he was able to converse with his rescuers and bid them goodbye, realizing that he was fatally injured. The accident was caused by a loaded car jumping the track and knocking out a prop.

The funeral services will be held at his late home at 9 o’clock Saturday morning, Rev. C. S. Jones, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment at Gratz.
