CHARLES J. PRICE
Charles J. Price of this place [Lykens], inspector of the 20th Anthracite District, as the son of William Price, is the only son of William Price, and was born in Wales 30 years ago. He has worked in and about the mines since he was nine years old and has had the experience of years in both anthracite and bituminous mines in both Pennsylvania and Alabama; Also in some of the Western States. He was elected to the office of inspector in November, 1904, for the period of three years, and assumed the duties of the same on the 1st of January, 1906. He has the honor of being Dauphin County’s first Mine Inspector, and also the record so far in his service of paying more official visits to the mines in his jurisdiction that any of his predecessors. He has effected many important improvements in and about the mines and always demands a full observance of the mining laws, and hence has the co-operation of the employees.
