Dennis Knorr, 7, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Knorr of Gratz, was instantly killed when struck by an automobile while attempting to cross Route 25, in that borough, shortly after 4:00 o.clock Wednesday afternoon.
According to advices, the boy, after waiting for another vehicle to pass, darted into the path of the automobile traveling in the opposite direction. State Police of the Lykens sub-station, who investigated the accident, stated the car was operated by Mrs. Luma Rothermel, of Gratz.
Dr. A. A. Horn of Gratz pronounced the boy dead. He had suffered a fractured skull and other injuries.
survivors are his parents, a brother, Claude Knorr Jr., at home; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Knorr of Klingerstown R.D., and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Scheib of Gratz.
Services will be held from the Hoover Funeral Home, Berrysburg, at 2:00 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. H. M. Mentzer, pastor of the Valley View Evangelical United Brethren Church will officiate, and interment will be in the Salem Lutheran and Reformed Church, Klingerstown R.D.
