An early, undated photograph of South Market Street, Elizabethville, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The road is not paved, but the “improved” sidewalks and track crossing on the east side are of wooden planks.
Note the corner of the Elizabethville Railroad Station at left and the tracks of the Lykens Valley Railroad crossing market street (left to right).
The view looks south. After the last building on the west side of the street, the road turns west and goes over the mountain to Jackson Township, Dauphin County.
