An undated picture post card view of the Old Stone Church, also known as Old Salem Lutheran and Reformed Church in Elizabethville, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
The church was built in 1835 on the southwest corner of Broad and Bender Streets and was used as a union church for more than 50 years. Also, the first public school was held here in the church basement. Beginning in 1883, the Lutheran and Reformed congregations began planning to build separate facilities and by 1888, with both having new buildings, it was no longer used as a church building. Eventually, it fell into such disrepair that it was razed in 1911.
