FORMER TEACHER DIED AT HOME YESTERDAY
Miss Ella N. Shutt, age 68 years, retired school teacher, died at her home, West Broad Street, Wednesday evening, following an illness of several weeks.
Miss Shutt was a daughter of the late Nathaniel Shutt and Amanda [Snyder] Shutt and was a native and lifelong resident of Elizabethville. For many years she took an active interest in the civic activities of the community.
She was a graduate of the local high school and following her graduation from the Shippensburg State Teachers College she became a teacher in the Elizabethville Public Schools, and served in that capacity thirty-three years. She retired from the teaching profession ten years ago.
Miss Shutt was a member of Salem’s Reformed Church and for many years was Superintendent of the Primary Department of the Sunday School. She was also a member of the Elizabethville Civic Club.
Survivors are one brother, Solomon C.Shutt, Elizabethville, and a sister, Mrs. Albert Etzweiler, of Phoenix, Arizona.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
