A brief article in the Lykens Standard, February 8, 1924, told of a Canadian who tried to move his family into the United States without having a passport. He was arrested in Tower City and held there for later processing at Philadelphia. No further information was found in subsequent newspapers to determine what happened to him (and his family).
NAB MAN AT TOWER CITY ON CHARGE OF ENTERING U. S. WITHOUT PASSPORT
Tower City, February 5 [1924] — A representative of the United States Immigration Department from Philadelphia, arrested Michael Yessovitch in this place, on a charge of entering the country without a passport.
Yessovitch had been employed at Detroit, Michigan, with residence at Windsor, Canada, and it is alleged took the opportunity to move his family into this country without passports. He was held under a bond of $500 before Justice S. M. Fesig, for a hearing at Philadelphia.
