A 1940 photograph of four young girl friends of Tower City, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
SCHUYLKILL MEMORY LANE QUIZ
Clue: Remember how much fun it was when you were young to have three or four good girl friends, or in the case of boys, good boy chums? Remember when your crowd would go for a long Sunday afternoon walk – maybe around Punkin Hill? The happy faces on these four memory lane girls prove that friendship was better than sitting front of a TV set all afternoon. It’s hard to believe the photo was taken 37 years ago.
Answer: The four teenage girls shown on last week’s photo are Pearl [Unger] Harner, Harrisburg; Joyce [Unger] DeHart, Harrisburg; Betty [Hand] Harner, Millersburg; and Louise [Bailey] Hain, Phoenixville.
