FUNERAL SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR LYKENS MERCHANT
George W. Parfet, 69, well-known merchant of Lykens, died in a Harrisburg hospital last Friday, where he had been a patient for a week following an operation.
Mr. Parfet was born near Shamokin and was married to Miss Flora Hawk of Lykens, forty-three years ago. He had conducted a general store at Lykens the past thirty-seven years and was a member of the Ashlar Masonic Lodge of Lykens.
He is survived by his wife, five daughters and one son: Mrs. Ruth Metz and Mrs. Mary Barmont, both of Harrisburg; Mrs. Clara Bachman, Mrs. Mabel Huber and Mrs. Mae Winslow, all of Philadelphia; and Clarence Parfet of Texas. Other survivors are six grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters: James F. Parfet, Utah, and William L. Parfet, Harrisburg; Mrs. W. H. Lebo, Indiana, Pennsylvania; and Mrs. James W. Wert of Harrisburg.
