A modern-day photograph of farm buildings on what was in 1875 the farm of George Washington Ferree, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Currently, this farm is about 46 acres, but originally it was part of several tracts granted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to individuals including Philip Umholtz.
The location of the George Washington Ferree farm is shown on the 1875 map cut above, just west of the border of Gratz, along Specktown Road, and in the southwest quadrant of Lykens Township.
