A 2010 photograph of the section of the Gratz History Mural featuring the “Great Seal of the Borough of Gratz,” which was designed by Larry Shade in 1990.
The seal features the years 1805, 1905, 2005, and 2105. Four sections display symbols of Commerce, Faith, Education, and Agriculture. And a banner across the center states, “Truly, the Best is Yet to Come.”
On May 30, 2005, a 75-foot wall mural entitled “A Walk Through History” was dedicated in the Community Building in Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, commemorating 200 years of Gratz history and recognizing the people from the past and present who together have made Gratz “a place to call home.” A small portion of the mural is pictured above.
