A photograph taken about 1995 of the Gratz Boy Scout Cabin which was located at the cul-de-sac parking area for the State Game Lands, South Spruce Street, Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
The 1995 photograph shows the deterioration of the cabin that occurred as a result of neglect. The original structure was built shortly after 1940 and eventually expanded to accommodate a mess hall, a recreation room, and a bunk room.
The cabin’s GPS location was: N40.36.079; W76.42.675. All that remains today are a few boards in an overgrown area, which can be seen from the parking area. When visiting the site, heed the “no trespassing” signs as the area is private property and is filled with poison ivy (in season) and snakes.
