GRATZ FAIR PATRONS SAW LIONESS VICTIM IN ACT
Residents of this section who attended the Gratz Fair last fall, saw Marion Knowlton in one of the animal acts staged there. Miss Knowlton is at present a member of the Excel Circus troup of which William Shultz is proprietor.
The circus is part of the Coney Island, New York, attractions. Last week, while rehearsing her act, Miss Knowlton was attacked by a lioness and was badly clawed. She was rescued by attendants and taken to a hospital where physicians believe she has a fair chance for recovery.
