From the Elizabethville Echo, 22 April 1904:
Christie M. Boyer, teacher of the borough primary school, left for Millersville State Normal on Snday. Miss Mollie Bowman, a graduate of last year’s class in Gratz High School, will teach the remainder of Miss Boyer’s term.

Ninety-eight carefully selected volumes have been purchased during the school year by principal of our borough schools and presented to the schools as the property of the Gratz High School Library. The funds necessary to purchase these books were raised by means of dramas and entertainments under the supervision of Prof. J. T. Hoffman, principal, and the hearty co-operation of the high school pupils.

The graduation class of the Gratz High School, 1904, consists of the following members: Harry Zerfing; Allen Kissinger; John Hoffman; Jacob Koppenhaver; Abbie Gottschall; Nora Shutt; Maybelle Hartman; Jennie Lehr; Eva Ferree; and Beulah Erdman; being the largest class in the history of the school. The class colors selected are lavender and white. Class motto – “Qui non proficit, defifit.” The commencement exercises will be held on Friday evening, June 17, in the high school room. Prof. Yeingst of the Lykens schools will be the honorary orator for the occasion. The program will appear in full in a later edition.

The fourth annual commencement of the Gratz High School will be held on Friday evening, June 17, in the Lutheran Church. A silver collection will be held at the school. The programme is as follows:
