The following news briefs were published in the “Gratz Items” section of a local newspaper for the week of 16 January 1926:
Hester Blyler, of Philadelphia, was married to Miss Bertha Lebo, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Lebo.
Nevin Strayer, who was on the sick list, has recovered and is around again.
Mrs. David Clark, who was on the sick list, has also recovered.
Joe Hartman and William Hoke were installed on Sunday as Deacon and Elder in the Lutheran Church.
Boby Roger killed a hog that dressed 400 pounds, the biggest in town, and Ira Mauser one that dressed 392 pounds.
John Schminky, George Hepler and John Willier attended the farm meet at Harrisburg last week and took dinner at the Penn Harris.
Harry Hepler is running the pump for the Water Company. The pump works fine.
Everybody in our town and vicinity are glad that a concrete road will be built from Millersburg to Gratz, which will make it very convenient for the public to travel.
