The following news briefs were published in the “Gratz News” section of a local newspaper, for the week of 26 January 1927:
Miss Mildred Kocher and Miss Bonawitz of Berrysburg, visited their parents over Sunday.
Norman Gass, of Lykens, visited relatives in town, Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Leitzel, of Klingerstown, were noticed in town on Tuesday.
The I.O.O.F. of town gave an oyster supper on Saturday evening in their hall. There were many people present and partook of the fine supper.
Roy Blyler, of Valley View, visited his mother over Sunday.
Harry Zerfing, of Millersburg, had business in town, Tuesday.
Susan Miller and family, of Spring Glen, visited at the home of C. U. Kratzer and family, Thursday.
George Hepler, Lewis Hepler, John Schminky, and quite a number of other citizens took in the inauguration and Farm Products Show last week.
Mrs. William Troutman returned home from the Fountain Spring Hospital, Tuesday.
Quite a number of our town folks are confined with lagrippe.
