On the back of the block is the following description of the Triangle:
THE TRIANGLE
Halifax, Pennsylvania
In 1926, William Knouff and Mary Knouff bought the Triangle Roadside Restaurant, which at that time stood closer to the road at Routes 225 and 147. It was popular for eating and square dances. They acquired a liquor license in 1933. In 1937 they erected the present building as an addition onto their home and tore down the old structure. The new restaurant was built of clapboard; in 1948 permastone was added. They operated in this building along with their son Harry Knouff and his wife Helen Knouff until 1963.
It was sold to Richard Knisely and Arlene Knisely. After the Knisely’s sold it, it changed hands quite a few times through the years. Lonnie Goodly made it the Pizza restaurant and Quick Corner. It was sold to Tower Sales and has been vacant since [before 2003].
