Dolly Madison Council Officers Assume Posts;
Symphonic Band Concert
Dolly Madison Council No. 146 Daughters of America held installation ceremonies in Maurer’s Hall. The following officers were installed: Mrs. Ethel Artz, councilor; Mrs. Emma Osman, associate councilor; Mrs. Cora Kembel, vice councilor; Mrs. Josephine Klinger, associate vice councilor; Miss Blanche Artz, conductor; Mrs. Beulah Klouser, warden; Mrs. Beatrice Schrope, junior past councilor; Mrs. Myrtle Stutzman, associate junior past councilor; Mrs. Florence Osman, inside sentinel; Mrs. Sallie Kimmel, assistant recording secretary; Mrs. Annie Eckler, assistant financial secretary; Mrs. Minnie Stutzman, trustee.
The Hegins Township High School Symphonic Band played a concert in the High School auditorium which was enjoyed by a fair sized crowd. The mixed chorus, directed by Miss Virginia Straub, Supervisor of Music, assisted the band in rendering the last two numbers – “I Am an American” and “God Bless America.” The band was directed by Bartel Schade, supervisor of instrumental music….
