Lay Corner Stone of Hegins High School
With appropriate ceremonies, the cornerstone of the Hegins township high school building, midway between Hegins and Valley View on the state highway, was laid on Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock in the presence of the members of the school board, county officials, the school administration, and a large number of citizens and school children.
The members of the board under whose supervision the district is erecting the building, A. E. Willier, president; Robert Bossler, secretary; Harry Coleman, treasurer; Lloyd Snyder and John Schrope were present at the ceremonies conducted by Deputy County Superintendent J. M. Schrope and supervising principal Michael G. Stump.
The contract for the new building is held by the C. M. Thomspon Company of Towanda, Pennsylvania, and is to be completed by the opening of the next school term in Sesptember, 1928.
