Irvin M. Buffington, age 75 years, died at his home in Gratz Saturday afternoon. Mr. Buffington had been a resident of that community over thirty years.
Mr. Buffington was a son of the late Daniel Buffington and Catharine [Hartman] Buffington, and was a native of Lykens Township. His wife, who was formerly Lydia A. Miller, preceded him in death four years ago.
He was a member of Simeon’s Reformed Church and the Odd Fellows lodge of Gratz. He was also one of the founders, and a former president of the First National Bank of Gratz.
Survivors are a son, Stanley A. Buffington, of Harrisburg; one daughter, Mrs. Clayton J. Umholtz, Elizabethville; two grandchildren, Robert Buffington and Richard Buffington, and one great-grandchild, Ronald Buffington.
Services were held from the residence at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. A. Levan Zechman, pastor of the Lykens Valley Reformed Charge officiated and interment was made in the Gratz Cemetery.
