James Lamar Kessler, 6, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Kessler of Erdman, was fatally injured when struck by an automobile near his home early Saturday evening.
The accident, it was stated, occurred when the boy ran onto the highway in the path of the car operated by Herman R. Laudenslager of Herdon R. D. 1. State Police of the Lykens sub-station investigated the accident.
The child sustained fractures of the scull and right leg and other injuries.
In addition to his parents, other survivors are a sister, Barbara Lee Kessler, a step-brother, Richard Shade, and his grandmother, Mrs. Meda Kessler, of Erdman.
Services were held from the residence at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning with further services in Klinger’s Lutheran and Reformed Church at Erdman. Rev. D. I. Sulzbach, pastor of the Sacramento Lutheran Parish, officiated and interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
