SCHUYLKILL MEMORY LANE QUIZ
Clue: Remember the song “John Brown Had A Little Indian?” Well, we can sing John ________ was a little Indian who captured a “big” bear.
Answer 1: We’re really stuck on who our last week’s little Indian is. For a long time we were under the impression it was John Lechleitner, but now we’re told we’re wrong. Can anyone help us?
Answer 2: The mystery of the “Little Indian Boy” shown in the October 27 issue has been cleared up with the following letter:
Dear Sir:
The little Indian in the “Down Memory Lane” item was James Lewis, son of Garf Lewis and Lizzie Lewis.
In your article you implied it was “John” and I though, “Oh, oh, they made a mistake and think it’s John Lewis.
Mrs. Lewis was a friend of Mrs. Lechleitner and probably gave her the picture at some time…
Mrs. Rhoda [Lewis] Myers
