FUNERAL SERVICE FOR LYKENS WOMAN HELD TODAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Schoffstall, age 57, wife of Lucian Schoffstall, of Lykens, who died Sunday, were held from her residence yesterday afternoon. Rev. Marlin Shoemaker, pastor of the Lykens Methodist Church, officiated and interment was made in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville. Mrs. Schoffstall had been in ill health for some time.
According to advices, Mrs. Schoffstall left her home early Sunday morning. A search was started by members of the family when her absence was discovered. Her body, it was reported was found about 5:30 o’clock, in shallow water of Rattling Creek, below the breast of the swimming pool dam near the Lykens West Borough Park.
Mrs. Schoffstall was a daughter of the late Daniel D. Helt and Catharine [Snyder] Helt and was a native of Jackson Township. She had been a resident of Lykens since 1910.
She is survived by her husband, four sons, Paul Schoffstall of Lancaster; Roy Schoffstall, Mark Schoffstall and Robert Schoffstall, of Lykens; five brothers, Frank Helt of Salix, Pennsylvania; Harvey Helt, Arthur Helt, and James Helt of Lykens and Raymond Helt, of Columbia, Pennsylvania; and five sisters, Mrs. Charles Uhler of Lykens; Mrs. Edward Etzweiler, Wrightsville, Pennsylvania; Mrs. Norman Reigle, Robesonia; Mrs. Harry Hoffman, Ephrata; and Mrs. Fred A. Ricker, of Santa Ross, California.
