An undated, aerial view of what was in 1875 the 158 acre farm of John A. Williard, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The dates of the construction of the buildings in this photographs are not known.
The farm was part of a tract of land patented to John Peter Willier in 1804 and known as Amsterdam. Originally, in 1787, it was part of a warrant to Lawrence Smith.
The surname of the family owning the farm in 1875 is often interchangeably found as Willier and Williard.
The John A. Williard farm location, identified on the 1875 map, is in the northwest corner of Lykens Township.
The undated photograph (above) shows an old outbuilding in dilapidated condition.
Finally, a more recent photograph (above) shows the farm house and another outbuilding.
Both of the more recent photographs show buildings that are easily identifiable on the aerial photo at the top of the blog post.
