An undated family photograph purported to be of the John George Keener family of Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
When this was published in a Gratz history in 1997, page 444, there was some confusion as to the identities of some of the individuals pictured.
For example, in the first row (seated), the young girl is not identified. John George Keener is next, followed by Sally Keener (wife of John George), and then son John Keener, who is standing. However, a sentence later, the description indicates that John George’s wife was Mary A. Keener, not Sally.
In the second row, the individuals are identified as Annie Keener, George Keener, and Lizzie Keener.
The location of the photo was said to be on the next page, rather than on the same page as the description.
Can any blog reader clear up some of this confusion?
