J. P. JOHNS DIED AT LOYALTON YESTERDAY
John P. Johns, age 72 years, died at his home in Loyalton Wednesday. He had been in failing health over a year.
Mr. Johns was a son of Peter O. Johns and Maria [Bitzer] Johns and was a native of Washington Township. He had been a lifelong resident of the Loyalton Community, and had engaged in the dairy business twenty-five years, prior to his retirement two years ago.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Sara [Miller] Johns; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Matter, of Millersville; and two sons, Marlyn Johns and Paul Johns, both of Loyalton; and four grandchildren.
Other survivors are a brother, Calvin Johns, of Harrisburg; and four sisters, Mrs. C. H. Kemmerer, of Boone, Iowa; Mrs. Louisa Miller, Washington, D. C.; Mrs. W. L. Hoffman, Loyalton; and Mrs. Francis Fetterhoff, of Lykens.
Funeral services will be held from the residence at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. C. E. Strohl, pastor of the Loyalton Evangelical Church will officiate and interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.
