An undated photograph of the Jonathan S. Zerbe family at a picnic in Loyalton, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. This photograph was submitted by Sharman Meck-Carroll, the great-grand niece of Jonathan S. Zerbe, who has possession of the original. It was given to her by Arthur Miller in 1985, a friend of Mr. Zerbe’s and a neighbor on Main Street (State Road) in Loyalton.
Jonathan S. Zerbe (1857-1941) owned the Zerbe Hotel, which was on the northeast corner of Main Street and the Crossroads (Oakdale Station Road) in Loyalton. When he died, his daughter Lottie Mae Zerbe (1891-1970) operated the hotel until 1960 when it was sold to Clyde Snyder who operated it as Snyder’s Hotel.
