A snapshot photograph taken about 1917 and identified as Kathryn E. Dietrich (1915-2003) on Radnor Street, Harrisburg.
Kathryn was the first-born child of William E. “Bill” Dietrich (1896-1977) and Helen [Hoffman] Dietrich (1895-1977). She was born in Specktown, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, at the Riegle-Dietrich homestead. Just before and during World War I, the family lived in Harrisburg where Bill was employed in the steel mills. After the war, Helen’s grandmother died at the homestead in Specktown, and at the estate sale, Bill and Helen purchased the 6-acre property and moved there with their young family.
The Radnor Street photo is the only known picture of any member of the family while they lived in Harrisburg. The exact location on Radnor Street has not been determined as of this blog posting.
