SISTER AND BROTHER DIE ON SAME DAY
Mrs. Katie E. Schwalm, of Reinerton, and her brother, John E. Lebo, of Tower City, died February 5th [1946].
Mrs. Schwalm died at her home in Reinerton, Tuesday morning, and Mr. Lebo passed away at the Pottsville Hospital that evening. Their parents were the late John Lebo and Sara [Rowe] Lebo.
Mrs. Schwalm, was the widow of John Schwalm, who for a number of years engaged in the hardware and plumbing business at Reinerton. She was a native of Porter Townhship where she resided most of her life.
Survivors are three sons, Ben Lebo Schwalm, at home; and Mark Schwalm and Harold Schwalm, of Philadelphia; one daughter, Mrs. William Batdorf, of Middletown; one grandson; one sister, Mrs. Cordella Miller, Cleveland; and two brothers, Joseph Lebo, of Philadelphia, and Charles Lebo, of Elizabethville.
Funeral services were held from the residence Friday morning. Rev. William Pahls, pastor of the Methodist Church officiated and interment was made in Fairview Cemetery at Muir.
Mr. Lebo had engaged in mining for a number of years, and later had conducted a meat market in Tower City.
Survivors are his wife and the following children, Leon Lebo, Lykens; Wilmer Lebo, Tower City; Clair Lebo, Elizabethtown; Elwood Lebo, of Stroudsburg; Marvin Lebo of Ephrata; Carson Lebo, with the Marine Corps in China; Earl Lebo, with the Air Forces in the Pacific; Mrs. Clarence Williams, Lykens; Mrs. Mark Kauffman, of Tower City; and one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services were held from the residence Saturday morning, with the Rev. Lloyd Beamesderfer, pastor of the United Brethren Church officiating. Interment was made in Greenwood Cemetery at Tower City.
