DAYTON YOUTH KILLED IN HUNTING ACCIDENT
Lloyd Neiswender, 17, of Dayton, near Williamstown, lost his life in a hunting accident, shortly before noon Saturday.
According to State Police, the youth with David Machamer, 18, of Lykens R. D., were walking along the Rattling Run Road, near Lykens, when the latter tripped and his 12-gauge shotgun accidentally discharged, the charge of shot striking Neiswender in the neck.
Machamer hurried to Lykens, where he reported the accident to State Police, who notified Dr. S. E. Herrold, deputy coroner. Dr. Herrold said death was almost instantaneous.
The accident victim, who attended the Wiconisco High School, is survived by his parents, Albert Neiswender and Rebecca Neiswender, and several brothers and sisters.
Services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Reiff and Helt Funeral Home, Lykens, Rev. C. W. Horner, of Wiconisco, officiating. Interment was made in Greenwood Cemetery, Tower City.
