An undated photograph of the early gristmill in Loyalton, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, that was later known as Fisher’s Gristmill. Tax records show that this brick building was established here as early as 1828.
The land on which the gristmill was built was part of two patents: (1) from land of Jacob Neff and his wife, Margaret Neff; and (2) from land of Timothy Horsfeld.
Another undated picture of the gristmill. The people in both photos have not been identified.
As part of the gristmill property, this home was built about 1830. One of the original mill stones is displayed in front.
The photograph (above) shows the damage done by Hurricane Agnes in 1972, when the banks of the creek overflowed. The home has since been repaired.
