This is said to be a photograph of the Southeast Room of the Zerbe Hotel, corner of Crossroads and Main Street, Loyalton, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, about 1910. The photo is undated, but if some of the persons can be identified, it may be possible to more accurately date the picture.
Unidentified is the group of string musicians who are the center of the picture. Regular entertainment was provided at the hotel and it was known as the social center of the town. Were these locals who stopped by with their instruments, or were they contracted by the hotel?
Some of the people in the photo may be employees of the hotel.
A number key is presented below to assist readers in making identifications of persons in the photograph. Not that #30 is a portrait handing on the wall of the room. It is possible that this is a portrait of Lottie M. Zerbe, the daughter of Jonathan S. “Jack” Zerbe, the owner of the hotel.
Please use numbers when suggesting identifications.
