AWARDED DISTINGuiSHED FLYING CROSS
The War Department has announced award of the Distinguished Flying Cross for achievement in aerial flight, to Lieutenant Asa S. Romberger, of the United States Army Air Forces, husband of Mrs. Jean M. Romberger, of Harrisburg.
Lieutenant Romberger entered the army in December 1941, and was commissioned a lieutenant at Columbus Field, Mississippi. Serving as a pilot with the Army Air Forces, he was reported missing in action, in the European war theatre, May 11th.
The airman is a graduated of the Millersburg High School and was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Company prior to entering the service.
