SPECIAL DEDICATION SERVICE IN BAPTIST CHURCH, SUNDAY
Edifice Partly Destroyed by Fire December 17, 1937, Re-built with Completely Renovated Interior; Church Organized As Independent Congregation in 1902 By Rev. A. H. Soulliard
Re-dedication and home-coming services will be held in the Transfiguration Baptist Church, Lykens, Sunday with special all day activities. The church was organized in 1902 by the Rev. A. W. Soulliard, as a independent congregation. Later in 1908 the congregation united with the Baptist denomination.
The present minister, Rev. H. B. Rittenhouse, had shortly before assumed his pastorate when the church was partly destroyed by fire December 17, 1937.
Immediately following the fire a building contract was given to Fred C. Helwig, of Millersburg, who will complete the re-building this week at an approximate cost of $3,500….
