CHRISTMAS LIGHTS MAKE COLORFUL TOWN DISPLAY
The Christmas lighting decorations placed in Main Street [Lykens] by the local firemen and lighted for the first time last Saturday night, proved very colorful and is meeting with favorable comment from every section of the town.
The lighting which was extended this year from Market Street Square east to the Pennsylvania Railroad, was placed by the firemen with contributions made by business houses in the section, the remaining cost paid by Liberty Hose Company.
The firemen and those making contributions for the extended lighting are to be complimented which in coming years may lead to the extending of the Christmas decorations north and south on Market Street.
