PENN CLOTHING STORE – Charles Felty, Manager
Among the newer commercial enterprises that are enjoying a satisfactory degree of success, must be included the Penn Clothing Store, which was established here three years ago by H. H. Christ and F. H. Stine. The firm has had thirteen years of experience in catering to the needs of the public in the clothing and gent’s furnishing line, which coupled with the fine stock displayed in the commodious store on Main Street [Lykens], accounts for the success achieved during the last three years. A large and very complete line of ready-to-wear clothing, soft and stiff hats, boots, shoes and rubbers and everything in men’s furnishings, is handled in assortment and variety that cannot fail to please the taste of the most exacting. Located on the main business thoroughfare of the town, and always kept neat, clean and attractive, the visitor is invariably impressed with the store’s general appearance, indicating that it is guided by someone whose ideas as to what the present day store should be, and modern and up-to-date in every detail. This establishment came here from Pine Grove, and the success achieved has been due to the industrious and energetic efforts of the local manager, Charles Felty, who, by close attention to the needs of the public, has built up a constantly growing patronage from among the people of the borough and neighboring communities. he has made many friends and enjoys the esteem and respect of numerous patrons who have found that the goods sold are always as represented. Last September Mr. Felty secured an interest in the firm.
