A 1925 advertisement from the Lykens Supply Company, Lykens, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, for an oil fueled kitchen stove, which supposedly equaled the speed of a gas fueled kitchen stove. The oil stove was identified as a “Red Star” model manufactured by the Detroit Vapor Company.
A woman is pictured removing baked goods from the oven, while a child on a tricycle moves dangerously close to to the stove.
The Lykens Supply Company sold the stoves in three, four, five and six burner models, each of which was described in the ad.
