LEBANON – Louis Brenner, a Lebanon scrap-iron dealer, has purchased the ties and rails of the abandoned Midland Pennsylvania Railroad, which was to have run from Millersburg, Dauphin County, through Gratz, to points northeast.

From the West Schuylkill Herald, 10 January 1919:
Louis Brenner, a Lebanon scrap iron dealer, has purchased the 24,000 ties and 1250 tons of rails laid I the construction of the Midland Pennsylvania Railroad. The project was abandoned three years ago. It was to have run from Millersburg, Dauphin County, through Gratz to points northeast.

Ruhl F. Lambert has secured the building in North Market Street recently used by the Midland Pennsylvania Railroad as a storage house and will transform it into a modern dancing hall….

PUBLIC SALE
Will be sold at public sale at the Public House of T. A. Kerstetter, Berrysburg, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, September 2, 1919 at 2 o’clock p.m., rain or shine:
19 2-wheeled scoops, used by the Midland Pennsylvania Railroad, in good repair.
Farmers and contractors or any person in need of a scoop should not miss this sale.
These scoops were placed in the hands of the undersigned for repair in November and December, 1918. Cash payment due thereon. Will be sold if not redeemed before day of sale. Terms will be made known on day of sale.
