A World War II example of non-censored “Free” mail provided to soldiers. Harvey W. Bonawitz, the sender was in the U. S. Navy and at Bainbridge, Maryland. The recipient was Carl F. Bonawitz, 787 Church St., Millersburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
In the message, Harvey indicates that there are “plenty of sailors here.” He also comments on the haircuts, “3/4 inch on top and as close as possible on the sides.”
